Dr. Williams
R. Craig Williams, D.M.D., is a visionary in dentistry, specializing in Periodontics, Prosthodontics, and Implant Dentistry. With a career defined by innovation and precision, Dr. Williams blends advanced technology with artistic skill, delivering exceptional results. His dedication to excellence and high standards has positioned him as a respected leader in the dental field.
A Career of Distinction
Dr. Williams was born and raised in Summit, New Jersey. He received his undergraduate AB degree from Dartmouth College in 1977, graduating cum laude with honors in his major of Mathematics. He received his dental degree from The University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine where he graduated in the top of his class in 1981. He earned membership in the Matthew Cryer Honor Society as well as Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Honor Society. Continuing at the University of Pennsylvania, Dr. Williams completed a General Practice Residency Program in Advanced Restorative Dentistry in 1982. Dr. Williams furthered his education by completing specialty programs in both Periodontics and in Periodontal Prosthesis-Fixed Prosthodontics in 1985. Dr. Williams is one of only a handful of dentists worldwide to complete this dual training program since its inception.
Dr. Williams has devoted his professional career to all aspects of Periodontics, Prosthodontics, Implant and General Dentistry. While using his training to treat patients with all types of dental needs, he has particular interest in the integration of periodontal, prosthetic and implant dentistry as they relate to the restoration of a single tooth or an entire dentition. To keep abreast of the latest developments in these same areas, he attends many continuing education courses and symposia, and has received additional certification in the area of implant surgical and prosthetic procedures as well as the use of CAD/CAM technology in the fabrication of porcelain restorations.
Mentoring with Passion
In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Williams has always been passionate about sharing his knowledge and mentoring future generations of dental professionals. Before establishing his private practice in 1985, he served as an Assistant Professor of Restorative Dentistry at the University of Pennsylvania, where he was known for his advanced understanding of restorative techniques. His role as a guest lecturer in advanced restorative dentistry further solidified his influence in the field. Today, as a Spear Study Club leader, he continues to contribute to the education of dentists, helping them achieve clinical excellence and stay at the forefront of dental innovations. Spear is one of the nation’s largest and most respected continuing education organizations, and Dr. Williams is proud to mentor peers through this initiative.
Dr. Williams is an active member of several professional organizations, including the American Dental Association, the American Academy of Periodontology, the Academy of Osseointegration, the International Congress of Oral Implantologists, and the Academy of Stomatology. These affiliations reflect his dedication to staying connected with the latest advancements in his field and his ongoing commitment to professional excellence.
His clinical expertise has been widely recognized by both patients and peers. Dr. Williams has been in private practice since 1985 and has been recognized by his peers to be included in Best Dentists in America, Top Dentists in the Philadelphia Area and Top Dentists of the Main Line since 2005!
Where Passion and Purpose Meet
Dr. Williams is a devoted father of five. He finds joy in supporting his children’s activities, from baseball and soccer to gymnastics and equestrian sports. His active lifestyle extends to his own hobbies, which include shooting sporting clays, skiing, tennis, and paddle tennis. Whether in the office or in his personal life, Dr. Williams approaches everything he does with the same level of energy, passion, and precision.
